From fadec versions V3.0 and up:

 Fadv4.zip     Autoexecutable file, installation not needed. USB Compatible. Updated 19/07/2007. 

    Instructions:

    Download the file and unzip in a directory.

    Launch the executable file. This soft doesn't need installation.

    NOTE: Has been reported by some costumers that some antivirus give a false positive on this file, but it is clean. If this is your case, you can try the file below that is composed by several files, need installation and is a bit more difficult to setup, so it is reccomended that first you try the single file.

 Fadv4install.zip      Full installation. Expand the zip in a temporary directory and launch the "setup.exe" file. Stop all running programms on your PC before install.

USB Drivers    Usb drivers. Compatible only with Xicoy Electronica FADEC USB Cable. Updated 19/05/2006
 
 

    Connection of the FADEC to the PC:

   1)  If you use a RS232 cable connected directly to a Comm port on the PC:

    Connect your fadec to a free RS232 port on your computer.

    Power on the FADEC (using a RX battery and receiver), and select the apropiate COMM  port in the menus.

    Once you select the apropiate COMM port, the software will display "Fadec connection OK".

    2)  If you use a RS232 cable connected to a third party USB-RS232 adapter:

    -Install the software received with your USB-RS232 adapter, and follow the manufacturer instructions. Check that in the Windows Control Panel, your  USB-RS232 adapter is correctly installed and its port number is between 1 and 8.    

    Connect your fadec to your USB-RS232 adapter, and the USB adapter to the PC.

    Power on the FADEC (using a RX battery and receiver), and select the apropiate COMM  port  in the menus. (the one wich that USB adapter is set)

    Once you select the apropiate COMM port, the software will display "Fadec connection OK".

        3) If you use a Xicoy (Nades) Electrónica USB-FADEC datacable:

    Download the USB drivers file found at top of this page in a temporary directory and unzip it.

    Connect your USB datacable to your computer. The PC will detect it and will show a label "FADEC USB DATACABLE", and automatically will ask for the drivers. Select the directory where you have un-zipped the drivers, and wait for that the installation be complete.

    Once the drivers installed, you can launch the FADECV4 executable and connect the FADEC to the cable. No power needed. If the driver is correctly installed, the main screen of the software will show"Fadec connection OK" and "Connected to USB". No comm port selection needed.

    IMPORTANT NOTE: This 3th option only work with datacables sold by Xicoy (Nades) Electrónica. If any other reading than "FADEC USB DATACABLE" appear when you connect the cable to your PC, please use the option 2 and install the drivers supplied with your cable.
